1857 married Kirstine Orbek Hundere (1833 - 1929).
Johan Torbjorn Ylvisaker was born in 1858: a graduate of Luther College in 1877 and of Luther Seminary, St. Louis in 1880; he married Josephine Fryslie in 1885; he ministered in Freeborn and then, with a growing reputation, moved on to Decorah. He was never really healthy and died in 1890.
Andreas Christian Ylvisaker was born in 1861; after completing Luther College in 1881, he married Anette Marie Erstad in 1888; as a natural farmer, owned a succession of three farms in the vicinity of Zumbrota; The last of them, Homewood, remained in their name until its sale to two of their sons in 1920.
Sigrid Ylvisaker was born in 1862 and married Cornelius Erstad in 1888; he farmed and later took over the Erstad place; they housed the ‘Old Folks’ there until their deaths, in 1920 and 1929.
Olaf Herman Ylvisaker was born in Norway in 1866; he graduated from Luther College in 1888; he contracted TB and went to California hoping to regain his health; He died in 1889 while trying to return home.
Ivar Daniel Ylvisaker was born in 1868; he graduated from Luther College in 1888 and Luther Seminary in 1891. He was president of the North Dakota District of the Norwegian Lutheran Church of America.
Johanna Torina Ylvisaker was born in 1871; she married Daniel Jordahl, a pastor at Norway Lake for several years, and had seven children while there. Died of complications of gallstones in 1905.
Skak Joachim Nikolaus Ylvisaker was born in 1874; he graduated from Luther in 1895, from Luther Seminary in 1898 and married Emilie Estrem that same year; he served four churches in all, separated by a term as Financial Secretary of the Lutheran Church.
